One of the best things about wordpress is the ability to customize your blog  through a ever growing selection of plugins.  I’ve come to realize though that for every incredibility useful plugin, there is a plugin that does little to help your blog out.  Figuring out which plugins are essential can be difficult at times.  That’s why I decided to put together a top 10 list of plugins everyone should be using to get the most out of their blogging experience.


These are 10 very popular plugins and ones that I swear by.  Now, for your viewing pleasure (in no particular order) here are the top 10 must have plugins for wordpress:

2. Akismet – Filters out any potential spam comments.
3. Easy Adsense – Makes using the popular google adsense a breeze.
4. Google Analytics for Wordpress – Best stats tracking around.
5. Google XML Sitemaps -Helps google index your site for searches.
6. SEO Smart Links – Auto formats your blog links to be SEO friendly.
7. Sociable – Makes submitting your cotent to other sites super easy.
8. Tiny MCE Valid Elements – Allows you to format posts as you see fit.
9. Wordpress Popular Posts – Lists your most popular posts in a widget.
10. Yet Another Related Posts Plugin – Automatically link new posts to related pasts posts.
