Calling all food lovers! Have we found the social networking site for you! Social media websites continue to dominate internet usage for a huge percentage of the population. Sites from Facebook to Flickr offer a wide variety of different social networking opportunity and experiences for their users. Now there is a new social networking site out there gaining popularity fast, which promises to be your one stop place for all your food needs.
GroupRecipes (BETA) is a upcoming social networking food site. While there are a number of food communities and recipe website out there, GroupRecipes brings a very new twist to the table. Here is a quick highlight of some of the features, which make this food site unique:
- GroupRecipes will predict other recipes you might like based off your existing collection of stored recipes, and it gets more accurate the more you use the site. It actually learns your tastes!
- Allows all members to offer changes/modifications to any existing recipe for others to try.
- Friendly social networking setup for discussions around recipes, food, and life in general – similar to Flickr.
- Collaborate and design/improve dishes with others online.
- Meet plenty of other food lovers in a very friendly web 2.0 setting
GroupRecipes also includes all the basic recipe features we’ve all come to love from our other favorite cooking websites. As the temperature continues to fall in New England and the leaves begin to change, I figured this would be a good time and place to post one of my favorite cookie recipes: Apple Oatmeal Cookies. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also very healthy! I would encourage everyone to give GroupRecipes.com (and the cookie recipe above) a try.
Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think!
