According to Yahoo! News, the internet turns 40 this year. The internet as you and I know it though is probably only about 14 years old as it was very limited prior to that. In a little over a decade of public use, the internet has created a new playing field for each and every one of us. If you’ve ever had an idea you wanted to pursue or a business you’ve thought about starting, now is the time to embrace that passion as an entrepreneur and make it happen! The barriers of entry have never been lower than they are right now. We often get distracted or discouraged from following our true interests, but today I’m hear to say there are no more reasons for excuses. To further show that the internet as we know it now in 2009 is in fact the gateway to your dream job, I’ve put together a list of the top 5 reasons as to why this is in fact true!
Here now are the top 5 reasons to be a entrepreneur today (and why you should stop waiting and start taking action):
- You can actually make a nice living doing what you love from the comfort of your home thanks to the internet
- You can and should build your business and your brand through word of mouth advertising online (100% FREE). – social networking
- A business on the internet can be started for free by anyone from anywhere (even with very little technical experience and no budget)
- No one has to be a complete expert to start a business online – Learn by doing and from others who are interested in what you are
- All the tools and resources you need to get started today are online for free – You can Google the answer to anything!
Most people work in a corporate 9-5 job that they don’t like! Who wants to live like that? Why live for the weekend and vacation days when you can live for everyday doing what you love and making a living from it. Work isn’t work when you enjoy what you’re doing. It’s time more people start living for today and every other day doing what they really love. You can’t do that unless you take the time to test the waters so to speak as an entrepreneur.
