Entrepreneurs are a unique breed of people and often times display traits or characteristics that aren’t commonly seen. It’s these unique traits that help internet entrepreneurs succeed in the work that they do whether it be launching a new start-up or selling a new product. So for all of you out there that have asked what it takes to be an entrepreneur, I now offer you a valuable piece to that puzzle.
The 12 Traits:
The following list comes from a article over at Focus Mag., which highlighted 12 of the most successful internet entrepreneurs and the traits each of them display in both their business and personal lives:
- Determination – Steve jobs who started both Apple and Pixar
- Innovation - Google’s new simplified approach to searching
- Frugality - Mint.com founder Aaron Patzer looking to simplify money
- Experimentation - Facebook with a new way to do social networking
- Eccentricity - Tim Ferris with the 4 hour work week and new approach
- Simplicity - Youtube allows anyone to upload and share videos
- Consumer – focused – Viaweb allows others to run businesses online
- Iconoclastic - Kazaa and Skype both broke new ground
- Ambition - Amazon.com grew through tough times in ecommerce
- Focus - Paypal took the time to grow in a secure and safe fashion
- Opportunism - Myspace opened the doors to social networking
- Flexibility - Wikipedia enables the reader to be the writer too
I think this list really puts entrepreneurship and the type of person it takes into perspective, which is why I wanted to share it with everyone today.
