myths 8 Common Myths About EntrepreneurshipNobody ever said entrepreneurship was easy, but many seem to believe it is next to impossible.  This simply isn’t true.  Regardless of who you are or where you come from, anyone with enough determination and hard work can make it as an entrepreneur.  Too many let the myths of entrepreneurship stop them from even getting started down the path to being an entrepreneur.  Most of what stops someone from trying is simply untrue or rather a myth that many mistake as factual information.  Today, I am going to debunk 8 common myths of entrepreneurship with you.

Forget What You’ve Heard:

I’ve been working in the corporate world for 5+ years now and have been working my way into entrepreneurship over the past two years.  I have since launched Networking Certified and continue to research, experiment, and build my network as part of my ongoing journey.  The thing that still amazes me though is the number of people I come across both online and off that still think even a basic internet business is too far out of reach for them due to reasons are completely FALSE.  So here today, I wanted to take a moment to share 8 common myths (as mentioned on Grasslands) about entrepreneurship that are nothing more than that:

  • It Takes Money to Make Money
  • You Need a Great Idea
  • You Need a Business Plan
  • You Need to be Lucky
  • You Need Support From Family & Friends
  • You Need a Type-A Personality
  • You Need Perfect Timing
  • You Need to Succeed Immediately

I’ve touched on all of these points throughout different blog postings here on Techlifemashup, but I really wanted to put them together on one page to further emphasize that these reasons not to go into entrepreneurship are untrue and nothing more.  With a simple idea and some hard work, you and anyone else can begin the path towards becoming an entrepreneur.  Don’t let inaccurate information stop you!

Be sure to head over to Grasslands for the complete list.
