At some point in your life for one reason or another regardless of whether you aim to be an entrepreneur or not, you will more than likely hold a corporate job of some kind. Many of you probably realize that finding your dream job can be a very difficult thing, and most people just end up settling for something that pays good (and doesn’t want to make them jump out the window). In the fierce world of job competition, you probably appreciate any help you can get as I know I sure do.
I’ve always said the internet is a great tool for just about anything. With some brain power you can do just about anything right from your home computer, which includes landing your dream job. Take a look at the short video below, which demonstrates how one very clever person used a simple website and some Google ads with very little effort to land his dream job. My hat goes off to this guy!

Andrey Ternovskiy is the creator of Chatroulette, which is a free web cam based chat service that randomly matches up two people to chat until one hits the “next” button or disconnects. This new take on the classic internet chat service has swept the net and mainstream media together and a social media frenzy to say the least. Andrey recently sat down with TechCrunch to discuss his budding success as an internet entrepreneur and goes onto discuss the future of Chatroulette:
Andrey identifies in the video above that he has noticed a common trend where users will exchange Facebook or other contact information to continue chatting in the future. He hopes to use Chatroulette to capitalize on this trend by creating an environment where users can save friends within the chat service to easily find again at a later time and resume conversations inside the service. He notes that he doesn’t want to integrate with other social media services or have users leaving to use those other services. Despite the current buzz, it seems like only a matter of time before Facebook creates a similar video-based chat service – just my two cents.
Google Voice continues to be a popular choice for any entrepreneur running a small business out of their own home and how can blame them. It’s a free service with a free phone number and plenty of useful features. The only cost to the end user is for making calls, which similar to Skype is pretty cheap. While Google Voice is not a actual VoIP service by definition (yet!), it’s still a great product for any entrepreneur at home or on the go with their cell phone. Thanks to the powers that be and more so to friendly competition, Google Voice is not your only alternative. Entrepreneurs may be shocked to hear that there is actually another similar free service that goes by the name of Phonebooth, which could serve up some decent competition for the search giant. This is good news for you and me! More »
More than 50% of all fortune 100 companies are now using Twitter and Facebook actively to market and communicate with customers. Social Media is slowly creeping its way into Corporate America and the rest of the business world. I can only say it’s about time. Small businesses have embraced social media from the start and in many ways paved the path so to speak on best practices when it comes to getting the most for your business from such tools. One of the most interesting things I think is seeing just how companies are using social media, and how it’s going to continue to change the way business is done on several different levels. Here now is a awesome infographic that sums it up perfectly. Entrepreneur or not – this is some cool stuff! Check it out. More »
Steve Wozniak (aka “The Woz”) can easily be considered one of the founding fathers of the technology space as we know it today. An entrepreneur by any standards, Wozniak is the man responsible for inventing the personal computer. Steve’s passion for technology and entrepreneurship paved the way for computers and other gadgets as you and I know them today. In a recent video presentation given by Woziniak, he discusses how he came up with the idea for the personal computer and offers some pointers to any entrepreneur out there looking to start their own business!

Kevin Rose (digg) recently gave a very interesting presentation, which covered 10 ways to take your site from one to one million users. What I really like about this presentation is that Kevin gets down to the nitty gritty here with specific examples that anyone with their own site can take home and apply. I encourage anyone with their own site to take a look.

You’re outside on a nice sunny day typing away on your laptop or away from your desk working remotely from your new snazzy netbook. Before you know it as it would seem, that little warning pops up saying 10% of battery power left. You quickly grab your power cord and frantically start looking for any available nearby outlet. This can be quite a nuisance for many of us, and what happens when you forget your power cord at home! Our mobile devices are bound and shackled to wired electricity. Well, what if I told you that was all about to change in the near future? More »
